An education provides the opportunity to escape poverty and sets the foundation for lifelong benefits. Nevertheless, children in Sub-Saharan Africa are often denied this opportunity for simple reasons, such as lacking a pair of shoes. Hands for Africa provides scholarships of $250 to children of amputee victims, so they may gain an education and start on the path to self-reliance. These scholarships cover the cost of tuition, books, uniforms, supplies, and meals for a year. Such support can create a lifetime of difference for a child and family.

Job TrainingCrippled by poverty and neglect, the reality of a secure future seems unattainable to amputee victims. Restoring health and mobility are crucial first steps towards building self-reliance, but enhancing vocational and agricultural training opens doors to more opportunities and a lifeline to independence. Through this program, Hands for Africa provides farming supplies and training in sustainable career opportunities, thereby providing the tools and knowledge necessary to earn a living.
